About SFDS
SFDS is seeking skilled and dependable Freelance Metal Fabricators to support our Metal Fabrication Department on an as-needed, project-specific basis. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced fabricators who enjoy working on unique, custom fabrication projects in a collaborative shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate metal components according to shop drawings and specifications
- Cut, grind, fit, and assemble various metal materials
- Perform MIG and/or TIG welding (as required)
- Operate fabrication equipment and power tools safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Ensure projects meet quality standards and deadlines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Collaborate with the fabrication team to complete projects on schedule
Qualifications
- Previous experience in metal fabrication required
- Proficiency with common fabrication tools and equipment
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and measurements accurately
- Welding experience (MIG, TIG, or both) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Compensation
- Starting at $25.00 per hour
- Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill level
- Opportunity for repeat freelance assignments based on performance and project availability
Schedule
- Project-based freelance work
- Hours vary depending on project scope
- Regular Shop Hours: Mon-Fri , 8:30am-5:30pm
- Day shift; occasional overtime may be available based on production needs
