Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their automotive service needs are met with professionalism and efficiency. This role requires a blend of strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service in an automotive environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assess their service needs, providing accurate information regarding repairs and maintenance.
- Create detailed service orders based on customer requests and vehicle diagnostics.
- Upsell additional services and products that enhance vehicle performance and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, service history, and payments.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services while maintaining quality standards.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently.
- Provide customers with updates on their vehicle status throughout the service process.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns in a professional manner.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an automotive dealership or service department is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, including brake repair and oil changes.
- Experience in automotive sales or auto service management is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
- Proven ability to upsell services while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail in processing transactions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- A passion for the automotive industry and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Compensation will be commensurate with level of experience. This is a salaried position. Work hours are 8-6 with a one hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Weekends are off.
Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
