Job description
The Estimator Assistant provides essential support to the Estimating Department, ensuring smooth operations and timely completion of departmental tasks. This role involves assisting in securing subcontractor and vendor estimates/proposals, saving and distributing solicitation documentation, and other administrative tasks required by the department. Candidates may be entry-level or experienced, with opportunities to grow within the department.
Responsibilities:

Review and manage all solicitation documents on company server.
- Organize and maintain project documents.

Assist with distributing project documentation/bid requests to potential subcontractors, suppliers, or vendors using estimating software/database.

Contact vendors to attend site visits. Attend site visits as needed by the department.

Continuously update company's database, including researching and soliciting new subcontractors to add to company's database or removing subcontractors from our database.
- Ensure all POC for subcontractors are accurate and up to date.

Generate and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed.

Confirm scope of work by reviewing solicitation documents.

Perform administrative tasks to support the Estimating Department such as:

Add important dates and deadlines to departmental calendars.
- Update departmental spreadsheets.
- Track submitted bids.
- Answering phones, taking messages, and booking meeting rooms as needed.

Education:
-
High school diploma or GED required.

Associate degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
Experience:

Entry-level candidates will be considered; one (1) or more years of construction estimating experience is preferred.

Previous construction field experience is highly desirable.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
