Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dietary Services Supervisor to lead our dietary department. This role involves overseeing meal planning, purchasing, maintaining regulatory compliance and staff supervision to ensure the delivery of high-quality nutritional care tailored to our residents’ needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive dietary department experience, budgeting skills and the ability to cook as needed.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily dietary operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Follow established menus to meet residents’ dietary restrictions and preferences while adhering to regulatory guidelines.
- Manage the dietary team by providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create individualized care plans that incorporate nutrition goals
- Monitor inventory levels, control food costs, and manage budgeting for the dietary department efficiently.
- Ensure all food preparation aligns with established menus, and regulatory guidelines.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a dietary or healthcare setting, preferably in a long-term care environments.
- Extensive knowledge of food service principles as they relate to patient care.
- Familiarity with patient assessment procedures, including compliance with therapeutic diets
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining high standards of service quality.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive team culture focused on resident well-being.
