Duties
- Safely operate a range of commercial trucks, including manual transmission vehicles, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment such as front loaders, rear loaders, or roll-off containers
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and readiness
- Drive local routes to deliver goods promptly to various locations
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks when loading or unloading cargo to ensure secure handling
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle maintenance records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Skills
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Illinois Class B with air brake endorsement
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and vehicle inspections
- Experience operating front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks,
- Proven driving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to regulations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during loading/unloading processes
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles preferred
- Strong organizational skills for load & unload operations and route management
