Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Structural Steel Project Manager to lead and oversee complex steel construction projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of structural steel projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to develop detailed project plans and schematics
- Manage procurement processes using construction estimating software and HeavyBid to secure materials at optimal costs
- Oversee project scheduling utilizing Primavera P6 and other construction management software to maintain momentum
- Review blueprints, schematics, and contracts for accuracy and compliance with project specifications
- Supervise on-site activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed and quality standards are met during construction site operations
- Monitor progress through regular site visits, updating project schedules and communicating milestones effectively
- Facilitate project coordination meetings to align teams and resolve issues promptly
- Utilize tools such as Civil 3D for site layout planning and schematics interpretation
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction management with a focus on heavy steel or structural steel projects
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, contracts, and construction site safety practices
- Proficiency in project management software including Primavera P6, ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other construction management tools
- Familiarity with civil engineering software such as Civil 3D for site design coordination
- Experience with construction estimating processes and project scheduling techniques
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams on large-scale projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of construction site operations, including safety regulations and best practices in steel fabrication and erection
