Key Responsibilities
Billing & Account Management
Monitor and manage queues in the EHR and clearinghouse.
Submit insurance claims daily, including secondary claims as appropriate.
Follow up on unpaid accounts and outstanding insurance claims.
Resolve credit balances and request transfers or refunds as needed.
Customer Service & Communication
Provide excellent customer service via phone and in-person interactions.
Respond to inquiries from patients, management, and insurance companies.
Communicate effectively and professionally with team members and external contacts.
Escalate complaints and concerns to appropriate personnel when necessary.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Run and review aged accounts receivable reports weekly.
Work insurance denials daily to ensure timely and appropriate follow-up.
Assist in audits and revenue cycle reviews as directed.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies.
Teamwork & Support
Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions.
Maintain a positive working relationships with coworkers, patients, and the public.
Help create and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment
This position operates in a hospital setting and involves regular walking throughout the facility. You may interact with patients and families and could be exposed to bodily fluids, odors, latex, and cleaning chemicals. Adherence to all hospital safety and infection control protocols is required.
