Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Steward, Dishwasher to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently, ensuring all dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to food safety procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including organizing supplies and handling ingredients with proper food safety management practices
- Support the cleaning and sanitation of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment to meet strict health and safety standards
- Buse tables or assist with clearing dishes during meal service to facilitate smooth operations
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of pots, pans, and dish racks safely following proper ergonomic techniques
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Operate kitchen equipment responsibly while adhering to sanitation protocols and maintenance schedules
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of food handling procedures
- Strong understanding of sanitation, cleaning, and dishwashing techniques aligned with food safety regulations
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
- Familiarity with operating commercial dishwashing machines and basic kitchen equipment such as sinks, prep stations, and sanitizing tools
- Excellent attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards across all kitchen areas
- Basic knife skills for assisting with food prep when required
- Experience in catering or banquet settings is a plus, demonstrating adaptability in fast-paced environments
