Registered Nurse MedSurg
Location: Newport, Vermont
Pay Rate: $63/hr
Contract: 13 weeks
Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, including every other weekend
Total Working Hours per week: 36 hours
Experience: Minimum 5 years
About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Registered Nurse MedSurg/PCU for a 13-week night shift assignment in Newport, VT. This role requires a strong, independent nurse with MedSurg, PCU, and telemetry experience who is comfortable working in a critical access setting, performing charge nurse duties, and floating to other units as needed.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care for MedSurg, PCU, and telemetry patients.
Monitor patient status and respond to clinical changes.
Perform charge nurse duties when assigned.
Work independently in a critical access hospital environment.
Float to other units, including ED and MCH, based on facility needs.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered.
Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner.
Communicate effectively with providers, staff, patients, and families.
Attend required department quarterly education sessions.
Requirements
Vermont Registered Nurse license required upon acceptance.
Minimum 5 years of nursing experience required.
MedSurg, PCU, and telemetry experience required.
BLS required.
ACLS required.
Cerner experience preferred.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to perform charge nurse duties.
Must be willing to float to other units as needed.
Every other weekend and holiday coverage required.
Personal transportation strongly recommended due to limited public transportation.
