Position Overview
This is not a traditional community outreach position. This is a growth role.
As Kindly's Community Engagement & Referral Development Specialist, your primary responsibility is helping us expand our reach throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania by building trusted relationships that generate referrals.
You'll become a familiar face within the DDD and ODP communities, developing genuine partnerships with Support Coordinators, healthcare professionals, schools, hospitals, and community organizations. Your success will be measured by your ability to help Kindly become the provider families think of first.
We're looking for someone with grit, initiative, and a genuine passion for helping more individuals receive exceptional supports. If you already have relationships with Support Coordinators and/or within the DDD or ODP systems and enjoy networking, creating opportunities, and seeing tangible results from your work, this role offers tremendous opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Referral Growth & Community Development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Support Coordinators, Supports Coordinators, healthcare professionals, schools, hospitals, discharge planners, social workers, advocacy organizations, and other referral partners.
- Proactively identify opportunities to introduce Kindly to new referral sources across New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
- Create ongoing outreach strategies that expand Kindly's presence throughout the state.
- Build long-term relationships that consistently generate referrals and strengthen Kindly's reputation.
- Maintain regular communication with referral partners to remain a trusted resource.
- Help ensure families throughout the state know Kindly exists and understand the difference our services provide.
Community Engagement
- Represent Kindly at conferences, networking events, resource fairs, family events, workshops, and community meetings.
- Deliver presentations and educational sessions on available services and resources.
- Identify sponsorships, partnerships, and collaborative opportunities that increase Kindly's visibility.
- Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for Kindly within the disability community.
Family Support
- Guide prospective individuals and families through available services.
- Educate families on navigating DDD and ODP services.
- Partner with our operations and case management teams to ensure a smooth transition from referral to services.
Strategic Growth
- Identify underserved regions, referral opportunities, and community needs.
- Provide leadership with market feedback and growth opportunities.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, community storytelling, and outreach campaigns.
- Track referral activity, outreach efforts, and partnership development.
Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of DDD and/or ODP services.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation abilities.
- Highly motivated and comfortable working independently.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to produce measurable results.
- Existing relationships with New Jersey DDD Support Coordinators, Support Coordination Agencies, or Pennsylvania ODP Supports Coordinators.
- Experience in Support Coordination, home and/or community based supports, community outreach, business development, admissions, provider relations, case management, or referral development preferred.
- Demonstrated success generating referrals through professional relationships.

- Helping Kindly continue to "blanket" the regions we serve so more individuals have access to exceptional supports.

Compensation
- Competitive base hourly rate plus high performance incentives tied directly to referral growth, strategic partnerships, and measurable organizational impact.
