As Accounting & Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing tax and accounting engagements from planning through completion. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, review work prepared by team members, identify planning opportunities, and help maintain the high standards of quality and service associated with TKG Tax & Accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of individual and business clients across a range of industries.
- Review and prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and other entities.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting engagements, including financial statement preparation and account reconciliations.
- Research complex tax and accounting matters and provide clear, practical recommendations.
- Identify tax-planning opportunities and advise clients on estimated payments, entity structure, cash flow, and other financial considerations.
- Manage engagement deadlines, budgets, workflows, and client deliverables.
- Review work prepared by staff and provide constructive coaching and technical guidance.
- Communicate directly with clients, tax authorities, and other professional advisers.
- Assist with notices, examinations, amendments, and other tax-resolution matters.
- Support process improvements, technology adoption, staff development, and firm growth.
- Maintain compliance with applicable professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant public accounting, tax, or professional-services experience as a manager.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation for individuals and closely held businesses.
- Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client engagements.
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping, financial statements, and general ledger accounting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines, particularly during peak tax periods.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop team members.
- High standards of accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and client service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent designation.
- Experience with CCH Axcess, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, SurePrep and MS SharePoint.
- Experience advising small businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Familiarity with tax notices, representation matters, and multistate filings.
Pay: $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
