Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team in Houston, TX. In this vital role, you will conduct psychological, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments to support students with diverse needs. You will collaborate closely with educators, families, and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans that promote positive educational outcomes. Duties
- Conduct psychological testing, including individual and group assessments, to evaluate student needs and strengths
- Perform diagnostic evaluations related to special education eligibility, mental health, behavioral health, and developmental disabilities such as autism
- Develop and implement social-emotional student assessments and behavior management strategies for students with special needs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to create effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support plans
- Provide counseling services including individual and group therapy focused on social skills, emotional regulation, and behavioral challenges
- Manage crisis situations by implementing crisis intervention plans and safety protocols when necessary
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, educational records, and detailed reports aligned with legal standards such as special education law
Requirements
- Master's Degree and Licensure as a School Psychologist
- Proven experience working with children in school settings or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of child development, behavioral management techniques, and special education law (including IEP processes)
- Experience conducting psychological testing, behavioral assessments, and diagnostic evaluations for students with disabilities or developmental delays
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA), crisis management, conflict resolution, and family collaboration strategies
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with students, families, educators, and other professionals
