About This Role
We are a licensed childcare center providing care for children aged 1 month to 5 years, and we're seeking a part-time support teacher to join our team.
As a part-time support teacher, you'll be responsible for creating a fun, educational, and safe environment for our young learners.
You'll need to be able to communicate effectively, work well in a team environment, and be self-motivated and organized. Having patience and the ability to build positive relationships with children and their families is essential.
What You'll Do
Duties include but are not limited to:
Following Washington State Code: WAC, ensuring compliance and adherence to regulations.
Maintaining program policies and procedures, staying up-to-date with best practices.
Establishing and maintaining good attendance and punctuality, ensuring timely arrival and departure.
Carrying out daily program responsibilities, adhering to schedules and routines.
Participating in joint housekeeping responsibilities, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the classroom.
Engaging in activities, managing classroom materials, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
Maintaining confidentiality, respecting the privacy of children and families.
Requirements
Basic qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school degree or GED is required.
Able to pass a Washington State background check.
Must have or obtain a TB test by the first day of employment.
Requires completion of STARS basic training.
High energy level and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and foster a team environment.
Must have or obtain within 14 days Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Must have or obtain within 14 days bloodborne pathogens certification.
Able to lift up to 45 pounds.
Initial ECE certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
One year of verifiable professional experience working at a center or other group care program is desirable.
