Duties
- Safely operate various passenger vehicles including vans, shuttles, and limousines to transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other non-emergency destinations.
- Navigate local driving routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely arrivals while adhering to all traffic laws and state transportation regulations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing excellent customer service and ensuring their comfort throughout the journey.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with clients to confirm appointments, provide updates on arrival times, and address any special needs or concerns.
- Handle lifting when necessary for loading or unloading mobility aids or luggage, always following proper manual handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or maintenance issues for record-keeping purposes.
Experience
- Proven ability to operate passenger vans, limousines, or similar vehicles with a focus on safety and customer service.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to optimize efficiency.
- Experience in medical transportation or working with clients requiring special assistance is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of state transportation regulations and adherence to traffic laws is essential for compliance.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and coordinate effectively with dispatch teams.
