Madd Gear is seeking a dependable, hands-on Warehouse Lead to run the daily physical workflow of our Savannah warehouse. This is an active floor-based role, not an office or warehouse management position.
The Warehouse Lead will personally receive, move, organize, pick, pack, stage, and load inventory while keeping the warehouse safe, orderly, and physically accurate. The role works closely with the office-based Warehouse Admin, who coordinates shipping priorities, documentation, carrier communication, and system administration.
Most day-to-day work will be completed independently. When temporary labor is brought in for container unloads, inventory counts, or peak periods, the Warehouse Lead will organize the work and provide clear floor direction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the Warehouse Floor
· Plan and complete the day’s physical warehouse priorities with minimal supervision.
· Keep inventory locations, staging areas, loading areas, walkways, tools, and equipment clean, safe, and organized.
· Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and report equipment or facility issues promptly.
Inbound Inventory
· Unload inbound containers, trucks, LTL freight, and parcel deliveries.
· Count and inspect received products against the available receiving documentation.
· Identify and report shortages, overages, damage, or product discrepancies.
· Label, locate, and put away received inventory correctly and promptly.
Outbound Inventory
· Pick, pack, label, palletize, stage, and load parcel, wholesale, LTL, and freight orders accurately and on time.
· Check quantities, product condition, packaging, labels, and staging before an order leaves the warehouse.
· Work with the Warehouse Admin on daily order priorities, pickups, documentation, and shipment issues.
Physical Inventory Accuracy
· Maintain accurate physical product locations and complete required inventory movements in the company’s ERP system.
· Perform cycle counts and physical inventory counts as requested.
· Investigate physical inventory discrepancies and communicate findings so corrections can be completed.
Additional Labor and Safety
· Direct temporary warehouse labor during container unloads, stock counts, peak periods, and special projects.
· Assign practical tasks, explain priorities and safety requirements, and monitor the quality of the work.
· Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements, including proper equipment and PPE use.
· Report accidents, injuries, product damage, safety concerns, or significant operational delays promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2+ years of hands-on warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment experience.
· Forklift experience required; current certification preferred.
· Experience receiving, picking, packing, palletizing, and loading parcel and freight orders.
· Basic working knowledge of inventory or ERP systems; training on company processes will be provided.
· Able to work independently, prioritize daily tasks, and follow work through to completion.
· Dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and attentive to detail.
· Able to communicate clearly with the Operations Manager, Warehouse Admin, temporary labor, and drivers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Able to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly lift and move products weighing up to 60 lbs.
· Able to bend, reach, climb, load and unload freight, and perform active warehouse work throughout the day.
· Able to safely operate a forklift and work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.

This person does not need to be a warehouse manager. They do need to take responsibility for the physical flow and accuracy of inventory and be comfortable directing extra hands when the workload requires it.
