The role of the Intake Supervisor is crucial to ensuring the safety and well-being of children within Hancock County. The Intake Supervisor manages a team of Intake Investigators who are on the frontlines assessing child safety. The Intake Supervisor makes critical decisions regarding the safety of children and the actions needed to eliminate imminent risk of harm.

JOB DUTIES
- Directly Supervises Child Welfare Caseworkers, Primarily Focusing on Investigations
- Conduct Case Staffing on a Regular Basis with Caseworkers
- Make Case Related Decisions to Protect Children and Preserve Families When Possible
- Assigns and Monitors Workloads of Caseworkers
- Ensures Compliance with All Federal, State, and Local Regulations
- Complies with State Monitoring and Corrective Actions
- Counsel and Train Staff
- Reviews and Completes All Approvals in SACWIS Timely
- Establishes Positive Relationship with the Courts, Law Enforcement, and Community Stakeholders
- Provides Expert Testimony at Court as Needed
- Assist in Development and Implementation of Policies Impacting Unit Operations
- Assists in Selection Process of New Employees
- Completes Staff Evaluations
- Approves Leave Requests, Timesheets, and Monitors Staff Absences
- Makes Recommendations and Follows Through on Disciplinary Actions as Needed
- Provide Data as Requested
- Coordinate Services with Community Agencies to Develop Resources
- Conduct Trainings for Schools and Other Agencies as Needed
- Serve as On-Call Supervisor for 7 Day Intervals on Rotating Basis (Additional Pay Provided)
WAGE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years experience as a Social Service Worker 2
- OR completion of undergraduate major core coursework or two years of technical training in behavioral science, social science, early childhood education, or related field. Also requires two years experience as a Social Service Worker 2
- OR two courses in adult psychology, one of which must be in the area of gerontology, or twelve months experience. Two courses or twelve months experience in child psychology, two courses or twelve months experience in social welfare or other sociology related topic, two courses or twelve months experience in counseling, one course or six months experience in domestic violence, and one course or six months experience in courtroom procedures. Also required two years experience as a Social Service Worker 2.
- OR education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.
- Must Have a Valid Ohio Driver’s License
- Must Remain Insurable Under County Insurance
