Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Lead Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and safety, with experience in various dining environments, including fine dining and catering. As a Lead Cook, you will play a crucial role in menu planning, food handling, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation in every dish served.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with management on menu planning and special dietary needs for guests.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as necessary.
- Maintain a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and creativity.
Experience
- Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant, catering service, or fine dining establishment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience in menu planning and understanding dietary requirements is preferred.
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a team effectively.
