Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Project Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our construction projects from the ground up. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure competitive pricing and successful project delivery. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using estimating software such as HeavyBid or Bluebeam.
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and analyze material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs to produce precise budgets.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and technical requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure the best value while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets through effective cost control strategies.
- Assist in preparing bid proposals by compiling detailed estimates and supporting documentation.
- Support contract administration by reviewing terms, scope of work, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations on-site.
- Contribute to project management efforts by providing accurate forecasts and assisting in schedule development related to cost considerations.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management processes.
- Proficiency in estimating tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate pricing models.
- Solid knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, and project management principles.
- Experience negotiating with vendors and subcontractors to optimize costs without compromising quality or safety.
- Familiarity with cost control techniques, budgeting practices, and financial reporting within construction projects.
