Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct mechanical systems repair including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, air brake systems, and electrical systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to assemble, modify, or repair vehicle components.
- Maintain and service farm machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Execute tire service, wheel alignments, shock & strut replacements, and suspension repairs to optimize vehicle handling.
- Troubleshoot automotive electrical systems including lighting, sensors, starters, alternators, and wiring harnesses.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, filter replacements, and equipment lubrication to extend machinery lifespan.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or automotive technician with dealership or industrial backgrounds.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, HVAC systems for vehicles/equipment.
- Skilled in using schematics for diagnostics and repairs on complex vehicle systems.
- Hands-on experience with excavator operation, crane maintenance, forklift servicing, and farm machinery repairs.
- Ability to operate power tools safely while performing welding or fabrication tasks; familiarity with soldering is a plus.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service, brake repair, suspension alignment, shocks & struts replacement.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients about repairs and maintenance needs.
