Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manufacturing Buyer to join our procurement team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and components essential to our manufacturing processes. Your expertise in supply chain management, vendor relationships, and procurement systems will ensure seamless production operations. Duties
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for manufacturing materials, ensuring optimal pricing, quality, and delivery timelines
- Manage purchase orders using ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or equivalent platforms
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms that benefit the company’s supply chain objectives
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through effective inventory control and materials management practices
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials while minimizing costs and delays
- Analyze Excel data and other spreadsheets to forecast demand, track procurement performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support procurement processes by utilizing purchasing management systems and vendor communication tools to foster strong vendor relationships
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with materials management, inventory control, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and supply chain management principles
- Excellent vendor negotiation skills with the ability to establish and maintain productive vendor relationships
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis and reporting purposes
- Experience with logistics coordination, pricing strategies, and contract management
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues promptly
- Knowledge of accounting software and purchasing management systems supported technically or directly
