Job Summary
The Auto Body Shop Manager oversees daily operations of the Keller Motors collision center. This role ensures high‑quality repairs, efficient workflow, excellent customer communication, and strong team performance. The manager works closely with ownership and other departments to maintain the dealership’s reputation for honesty, quality, and treating every customer like family.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Shop Operations — Manage workflow, repair timelines, and shop efficiency
- Team Leadership — Supervise body technicians, painters, estimators, and detailers
- Customer Communication — Provide updates, explain repairs, and maintain Keller Motors’ customer‑first standard
- Insurance & Estimating — Work with insurance adjusters, review estimates, and handle supplements
- Quality Control — Inspect completed repairs for safety, fit, and finish
- Parts Coordination — Order parts, track deliveries, and manage returns
- Safety & Compliance — Maintain OSHA standards and a clean, safe shop
- Financial Oversight — Monitor labor hours, parts margins, and overall shop profitability
- Scheduling — Assign jobs and keep repair timelines on track
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage a team in a fast‑paced environment
- Basic understanding of collision repair processes (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to read estimates and work with insurance companies
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Basic computer skills (estimating software, email, scheduling tools)
Preferred Experience
- Experience in an auto body shop or service department
- Familiarity with CCC One, Mitchell, or similar estimating systems
- Understanding of paint processes, frame repair, and OEM procedures
Typical Day‑to‑Day Tasks
- Review incoming vehicles and assign work
- Communicate with customers and insurance adjusters
- Approve estimates and supplemental repairs
- Inspect repairs before delivery
- Track parts orders and returns
- Maintain shop cleanliness and safety
- Monitor technician hours and productivity
- Resolve customer concerns professionally
Pay: $42,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
