Store Manager – Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken & Wings (Raleigh, NC)Position Overview
Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken & Wings is seeking a hands-on Store Manager to lead our new Raleigh location. The Store Manager is responsible for restaurant operations, team development, guest experience, and financial performance.
This is a working manager position. The Store Manager is expected to lead from the front by working alongside the team and stepping into kitchen, prep, or front-of-house roles as needed.
ResponsibilitiesOperations
- Manage daily restaurant operations, including opening, closing, cash handling, and shift execution.
- Ensure food quality, cleanliness, speed of service, and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with company standards, food safety, and health regulations.
- Monitor labor, food costs, and operating expenses.
Hands-On Leadership
- Work alongside the team during busy periods and staffing shortages.
- Perform cooking, prep, frying, assembly, cashiering, expediting, and cleaning duties as needed.
- Be capable of operating every station in the restaurant.
- Train and cross-train employees on all positions.
- Lead by example and foster a team-first culture.
Team Management
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members and shift leaders.
- Create schedules that balance labor efficiency and customer service.
- Conduct coaching, performance feedback, and shift meetings.
- Build a positive, accountable work environment.
Guest Experience
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve guest concerns promptly.
- Maintain high standards for hospitality, order accuracy, and cleanliness.
- Build relationships with local customers and encourage repeat business.
Financial & Inventory Management
- Manage inventory, ordering, and product waste.
- Conduct inventory counts and maintain proper food storage procedures.
- Review sales, labor, food cost, and operational performance metrics.
- Ensure accurate cash handling and deposits.
Local Store Marketing
- Support local marketing efforts, promotions, and community events.
- Build relationships with nearby businesses, schools, and organizations.
- Assist with catering, grand opening events, and local outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of restaurant management experience in QSR, fast casual, or high-volume restaurants.
- Experience managing teams of 10–20 employees.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, labor management, and inventory control.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Comfortable working in both management and line-level positions.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- Experience with chicken concepts or franchise restaurants is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
