Key Responsibilities
As a Commercial Driver, you will safely operate heavy-duty trucks (Front-End Loader, Roll-Off, and Container/Can Delivery vehicles) to service commercial, industrial, and construction accounts across New Castle County.
- Equipment Operation: Safely maneuver front-load commercial vehicles, haul and dump roll-off containers, and efficiently execute container/can deliveries and swaps.
- Navigation: Navigate high-traffic, congested commercial roadways, tight driveways, alleyways, and active job sites.
- Safety & Compliance: Operate in strict accordance with OSHA, DOT, and Evergreen safety policies.
- Inspections: Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections utilizing standard DVIRs.
- Communication: Immediately report any unsafe situations, service interruptions (e.g., blocked containers, overloaded cans), incidents, or property damage to Dispatch or the Operations Manager.
- Customer Service: Ensure all customer containers are completely dumped and the location is left clean and free of debris.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- License: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A or B required).
- Endorsements: Air Brake Endorsement (Required).
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (Waste industry experience with Front-Load or Roll-Off is highly preferred).
- MVR: Ability to provide a clean 5-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, teamwork mentality, and commitment to daily route efficiency.
