POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle execution of commercial, renewable solar, industrial, public works, and government electrical construction projects.
This role is accountable for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with contractual and company performance standards.
This position reports directly to the Division Manager and is a key driver of project performance, operational consistency, and financial results across the California market.
The Project Manager is expected to operate with a high level of ownership, lead cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of scalable processes that support sustained, profitable growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience managing large-scale commercial and/or utility solar electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Demonstrated leadership in directing field teams, subcontractors, procurement, estimating, and project controls
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders effectively
- Advanced technical knowledge of electrical construction practices, sequencing, and industry standards·
- Ability to operate effectively across all levels of the organization and drive accountability
- Self-directed professional with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and follow-through
- Excellent time management, planning, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities in fast-paced environments
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC); familiarity with GO95 is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Programs including Office Suite and construction/project management platforms
- Experience with estimating software (Accubid preferred)
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- 8–10 years of electrical or mechanical construction experience required
- Minimum of 3–5 years of project management experience preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish clear project objectives, align resources, and lead teams to meet or exceed project goals related to safety, schedule, cost, and quality
- Collaborate with estimating, field operations, procurement, and leadership to ensure consistent and successful project execution
- Prepare, review, and validate competitive bid proposals with a focus on accuracy, risk mitigation, and margin protection
- Maintain full ownership of project financials, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and profitability
- Attend and lead pre-bid meetings, job walks, and project coordination meetings
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, maintaining strong and professional relationships
- Perform detailed estimating and pricing for change orders through review of revised drawings, specifications, and scope changes
- Identify and manage labor, material, equipment, and schedule requirements to support efficient execution
- Administer and manage subcontractor agreements, including performance tracking, compliance, and invoice review
- Analyze project documents and proactively resolve scope gaps, conflicts, and discrepancies
- Manage project execution in strict accordance with contract requirements, schedules, and financial targets
- Monitor project performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address deviations
- Develop and deliver accurate weekly and monthly project status reports to Division Manager and executive leadership
- Coordinate with procurement and administrative teams to ensure timely and cost-effective material acquisition
- Maintain strong client relationships and drive a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Respond promptly and professionally to all project-related inquiries, changes, and coordination needs
- Identify and implement cost savings, productivity improvements, and process efficiencies across projects
- Support business development efforts by identifying strategic opportunities and strengthening client relationships
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Division Manager to support operational and company objectives
Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
