McGraw Housing Company is seeking a reliable, experienced Cook to join our dining services team in a senior living community. The primary focus of this position is preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals for residents while helping maintain a safe, organized, and efficient kitchen.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable preparing a wide variety of menu items, including home-style meals, soups, salads, entrees, and desserts, and be able to accurately follow recipes while maintaining consistency, quality, and portion standards.
In addition to cooking responsibilities, the successful candidate may occasionally assist with inventory, staff coordination, meal service oversight, special events, and other dining department duties as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook daily meals for residents
- Follow recipes and menus to ensure consistent, high-quality food preparation
- Prepare a variety of foods while accommodating dietary needs and restrictions
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and portion consistency
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and dietary guidelines
- Assist with kitchen organization, food storage, and inventory control
- Support meal service and resident dining experience
- Help with special events, holiday meals, and community gatherings
- Provide additional support to dining operations as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of cooking or food service experience
- Ability to prepare a wide variety of foods and follow recipes accurately
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Hours Needed
- The position is part-time at 15-30 hours per week. Normal shifts: Monday through Friday from 1:00pm - 7:00pm.
