About Reunion BBQ
Reunion BBQ is a full-service BBQ restaurant and entertainment destination located in Boston’s South End. In addition to our restaurant operations, we offer catering, private and semi-private events, live music, weekly special events, and Friday and Saturday nightlife.
We are looking for an energetic, highly organized, sales-driven Events, Catering & Entertainment Manager to grow our catering and private-event business while developing and managing our weekly entertainment programming.
This is not simply an event coordinator position. We are looking for someone who can sell, promote, build relationships, create successful events, and generate measurable revenue.
Key ResponsibilitiesCatering & Private Event Sales
- Manage incoming catering, private-event, corporate-event, and group-dining inquiries.
- Respond quickly and professionally to new leads.
- Prepare proposals, quotes, menus, and event packages.
- Consistently follow up with leads and close business.
- Conduct restaurant tours and client meetings.
- Collect deposits and coordinate event details.
- Upsell food packages, bar packages, appetizers, desserts, entertainment, and other upgrades.
- Prospect for new catering and private-event clients.
- Develop relationships with corporations, offices, universities, hotels, event planners, wedding planners, nonprofits, and local organizations.
- Build repeat and referral business.
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline and provide weekly sales reports.
- Coordinate confirmed events with restaurant management, kitchen, and bar teams.
Taco Tuesday & Weekly Events
- Manage and continuously improve our Taco Tuesday program.
- Coordinate DJs, hosts, entertainment, promotions, and event setup.
- Develop ideas to increase Tuesday attendance, food sales, margarita sales, and overall revenue.
- Ensure events are properly promoted in advance.
- Review event results and recommend improvements based on sales and attendance.
Live Music
- Source, negotiate with, schedule, and book singers, bands, and other performers.
- Maintain an organized entertainment calendar.
- Coordinate performer arrival, setup, soundcheck, and event requirements.
- Obtain promotional photos, videos, and other content from performers.
- Work with performers to cross-promote their appearances.
- Identify new local talent and entertainment concepts that fit the Reunion BBQ brand.
Friday & Saturday Nightlife
- Help develop and grow Reunion BBQ's Friday and Saturday nightlife programming.
- Recruit and manage DJs, promoters, hosts, and entertainment partners.
- Negotiate entertainment and promotional agreements.
- Develop event concepts, themes, and special nights.
- Coordinate promoters and track their individual performance.
- Help grow VIP/table and bottle-service business.
- Coordinate ticketing, guest lists, and event listings when applicable.
- Develop partnerships with influencers, nightlife professionals, organizations, and local communities.
- Work with management to ensure each event is properly planned and executed.
- Evaluate nightlife performance based on revenue, attendance, entertainment costs, and promotional expenses.
Marketing & Promotion
- Create and maintain a monthly event calendar.
- Coordinate event information and promotional materials with our marketing team.
- Ensure events are published and promoted across appropriate platforms.
- Work with DJs, performers, promoters, and hosts to increase event exposure.
- Identify partnerships and grassroots marketing opportunities throughout Boston.
- Help create compelling event concepts that give customers a reason to visit Reunion BBQ.
Performance Expectations
This is a revenue-focused position. Success will be measured through results including:
- Catering sales
- Private-event sales
- Number of qualified leads generated
- Lead-to-booking conversion rate
- Average event value
- New corporate accounts
- Repeat catering/event customers
- Taco Tuesday sales and attendance growth
- Live music performance
- Friday and Saturday nightlife sales
- Ticket sales and attendance
- VIP/table reservations
- Entertainment and promotional costs
- Overall profitability of events
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is outgoing, creative, highly organized, persistent, and comfortable selling.
You should be someone who can meet with a corporate client about a private event, follow up on catering proposals, negotiate with a DJ, coordinate a singer, work with promoters, and develop a plan to increase attendance for an upcoming event.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in event sales, catering sales, hospitality, nightlife, entertainment, or event production.
- Strong sales and closing ability.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable negotiating with entertainers, DJs, promoters, vendors, and clients.
- Knowledge of the Boston hospitality, nightlife, entertainment, or corporate-event market is highly preferred.
- Existing relationships with DJs, promoters, musicians, event planners, corporate clients, or hospitality professionals are a major plus.
- Comfortable working independently and being held accountable to revenue goals.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends based on the event schedule.
- Experience with restaurant POS, reservation, CRM, ticketing, or event-management systems is a plus.
What We're NOT Looking For
We are not looking for someone who simply waits for inquiries and coordinates events after they are booked.
We want someone who actively asks:
“How can I bring more catering, private events, and event-driven revenue into Reunion BBQ this week?”
You must be comfortable prospecting, networking, following up, selling, negotiating, and being accountable for results.
Compensation
Competitive base salary + performance incentives/commission
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, with opportunities to earn additional compensation based on catering sales, private-event sales, and event performance.
Schedule
Full-time position.
The schedule will include a combination of weekday business-development/administrative hours and evening/weekend availability based on our event calendar.
This position requires flexibility, particularly for major events and Friday/Saturday nightlife programming.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
