Hey — quick question. Do you want a clinical job where you just clock in and blend into the background… or do you want to be the backbone of a high-performing surgical team?
We are Dr. Adam Fagin and Dr. Minerva Loi. We run Peninsula Oral and Facial Surgery (POFS), and we are looking for a part-time Sterile Technician to join our back-office team. Not because we’re short-staffed. Because we protect our culture, love our camaraderie, and know that a perfectly run sterilization bay is the secret weapon behind a smooth surgical day.
So before you read the rest, here’s the honest part: You do NOT need prior oral surgery or dental experience.
We’d genuinely rather train someone brand new who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable than hire someone with years of experience who is just going through the motions. Skills can be taught. Attitude can’t.
What this job actually feels like You won’t be treated like “just a dishwasher” or hidden away. You won't be invisible. You won’t be treated like “just staff.”
You are the engine of our clinical workflow. While our surgical assistants are focused entirely on patient care, you are the master of the sterilization bay—ensuring instruments are pristine, autoclaves are running perfectly, and surgical rooms are turned over with lightning speed. You will work alongside a dynamic team that actually enjoys working together, supports one another, and laughs throughout the day.
And here is the best part: This is a perfect entry point into the world of oral and facial surgery. If you are a dental assisting student, a pre-health tracker, or just someone looking to build a career, we love to promote from within. We want to build your clinical skills, not just fill a shift.
What you’ll do
- Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments according to strict safety protocols.
- Monitor, test, and log autoclave and sterilization equipment performance daily.
- Help our surgical assistants turn over and set up operating rooms efficiently between cases.
- Maintain a highly organized, clean, and fully stocked sterilization environment.
- Be part of a team that helps each other constantly—when the back office wins, the whole practice wins.
Who thrives here
- People who find deep satisfaction in order, cleanliness, and organization.
- Fast learners who notice the little things and love a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable professionals who understand that being on time means our surgeries stay on time.
- Those who want clear expectations and autonomy, not micromanagement.
- Someone proud of doing things exceptionally well.
Experience Nice if you have it (Dental Assisting students are highly encouraged to apply!). Totally fine if you don’t. We train thoroughly and expect growth — this is a place to build real skills.
