Position description
Evergreen Landscape Designs is looking for an experienced Hardscape Installer / Mason to join our team. This position performs skilled installation and repair work for residential outdoor projects, including patios, walkways, retaining walls, brick walls, steps, and other masonry and hardscape features.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with brick, bluestone, natural stone, concrete pavers, block, and related materials. Candidates must understand proper grading, base preparation, drainage, layout, cutting, leveling, jointing, and finishing techniques.
Responsibilities:
* Install patios, walkways, steps, retaining walls, and brick walls
* Work with bluestone, brick, natural stone, concrete pavers, and block
* Complete excavation, grading, and compacted-base preparation
* Measure and lay out hardscape areas accurately
* Cut, level, align, and secure hardscape materials
* Mix and apply mortar for brick and stone masonry
* Install edging, joint sand, gravel, and drainage components
* Operate compactors, masonry saws, skid steers, and hand tools safely
* Protect clients’ homes, plants, utilities, and existing landscape features
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite
* Follow project plans and Evergreen’s quality standards
* Communicate material needs, site issues, and progress to the crew leader or project manager
Qualifications:
* Previous professional hardscape or masonry experience required
* Experience with brick, bluestone, natural stone, pavers, or retaining walls
* Knowledge of grading, drainage, base preparation, and compaction
* Ability to read measurements and follow layouts or project plans
* Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
* Dependable transportation and consistent attendance
* Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
* Valid driver’s license preferred
* Equipment-operation experience is a plus
