We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Assembler I to join our manufacturing team. This position performs routine mechanical and electromechanical assembly operations involving small, precision components while following established work instructions, manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will have previous assembly experience, the ability to read blueprints or schematic drawings, strong communication skills, and excellent manual dexterity. This position requires employees to learn and operate an industrial sewing machine, so candidates must be comfortable and willing to develop this skill as part of their training.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine mechanical and electromechanical assembly of small parts and components in accordance with established company instructions and procedures.
Review shop travelers, route cards, and uncomplicated schematic drawings to verify the correct sequence of operations.
Position extremely small componentsincluding ceramic boards, crystals, gauges, fine pins, fire wire, solder particles, and epoxyusing tweezers, positioning fixtures, and binocular microscopes.
Adjust, bend, align, and solder fine wires to resistors and base components.
Apply, bond, or seal components and assemblies using epoxy, direct heating elements, and ovens.
Perform various in-process tests to verify product quality and conformance to specifications.
Learn and operate industrial sewing equipment as required for assigned production processes.
Use hand tools and light machinery safely and effectively.
Follow all manufacturing instructions, company policies, and safety procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Identify and resolve straightforward production issues by following established procedures.
Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
Work additional hours, weekends, nights, or variable schedules when required by business needs.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
12 years of relevant assembly or manufacturing experience.
Previous hands-on assembler experience.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, shop travelers, route cards, or manufacturing instructions.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to work with very small components.
Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and light machinery.
Basic mathematics skills.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and established manufacturing procedures.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine problems using established processes.
Willingness and ability to learn and operate an industrial sewing machine.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience.
Experience with precision or small-component assembly.
Soldering experience, particularly with fine wires or electronic components.
Experience working with epoxies, bonding, or sealing processes.
Industrial sewing or sewing machine experience.
Troubleshooting experience.
Vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent technical experience.
Education Requirement-
High school diploma, secondary certificate, GED, or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience preferred.
