Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing a variety of menu items with precision and consistency, following established recipes and standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, poachers, braising pots, and food production machinery
- Follow strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
- Support in food handling, portioning, and presentation to ensure high-quality meal service
- Help with food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients for various dishes
- Maintain inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying supervisors of shortages or issues
- Adhere to dietary guidelines and menu plans while assisting in catering and high-volume food production environments
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary aide roles or food service environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and culinary techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food preparation
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking methods required for meal preparation
- Ability to work efficiently during high-volume production periods while maintaining attention to detail
- Restaurant or catering experience is a plus; enthusiasm for learning new culinary skills is essential
