Duties
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including supervising staff and ensuring smooth shift transitions
- Lead and motivate team members through training & development initiatives, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment
- Oversee customer service excellence by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining positive customer relationships
- Manage inventory levels through stock ordering, merchandising, pricing strategies, and inventory control procedures
- Handle payroll processing, cash handling, cashiering duties, and POS (Point of Sale) system operations accurately
- Coordinate purchasing activities and manage supplier relationships to ensure product availability and optimal pricing
- Support marketing efforts by implementing promotional campaigns and visual merchandising to boost sales
Experience
- Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience within a retail or grocery store setting
- Strong management skills with demonstrated success in team leadership and staff supervision
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable
- Experience with retail math, budgeting, and financial management including payroll and bookkeeping
- Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, inventory management, and sales management techniques
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail sales operations
- Ability to multitask effectively with strong organizational skills and time management expertise
