Plant Electrical Maintenance Technician – 4-Day Work Week!
Location: Red Diamond | Moody, AL
Schedule: First Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 am - 3:30 pm with availability to work second shift (M-Th, 3:30 pm - 2 am when needed)
Overtime: Occasional Fridays as needed

What You’ll Do:
As a Plant Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the electrical and automation systems that keep our production operations running efficiently. This position is heavily focused on industrial electrical work, controls, and automation, while spending a significant percentage of time supporting mechanical maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical and mechanical systems, production equipment, motors, drives, sensors, and automation controls in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Install, maintain, and modify electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, control panels, and machine wiring.
- Run conduit, pull wire, terminate electrical connections, and ensure installations meet applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
- Build, wire, install, and troubleshoot control panels and electrical enclosures for manufacturing equipment and process improvements.
- Program, troubleshoot, and support Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs and related automation systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical drawings.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment, electrical systems, and automation controls.
- Troubleshoot VFDs, relays, sensors, switchgear, motor starters, and other industrial control components.
- Support equipment upgrades, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Rebuild pumps, conveyors, and other production-related mechanical equipment as required.
- Complete scheduled work orders and accurately document maintenance activities and repairs.
- Assist with equipment startups, line changeovers, and commissioning of new machinery.
- Communicate equipment status, maintenance findings, and operational updates across shifts.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical School, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or related training preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician, Electrical Maintenance Technician, or similar manufacturing electrical role.
- Strong Allen-Bradley PLC experience required, including troubleshooting and modification of PLC programs.
- Experience with PLC programming, ladder logic, HMI systems, and industrial automation strongly preferred.
- Proven experience building, wiring, and installing control panels and electrical control systems.
- Demonstrated experience running conduit, pulling wire, and performing industrial electrical installations.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, motors, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and industrial automation equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Understanding of electrical safety standards and safe work practices.
- Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
