About the Role
We are a manufacturer of industrial atomizing humidification systems used in HVAC and controlled environments such as hospitals, manufacturing facilities, and other industrial applications.
We are hiring an Applications Engineer to support system design, troubleshoot field performance issues, and provide technical guidance to customers and manufacturer representatives.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on real-world HVAC applications and system performance, not a sales position.
Most of your time will be spent providing equipment selections, technical sales support, solving application challenges, diagnosing system behavior, and helping ensure our humidification systems are correctly specified and operating as intended.
What You Will Do:
Technical Applications & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve humidification system performance issues via phone and email
- Support customers and reps with system behavior, installation, and operating questions
- Analyze application conditions and provide technical recommendations
- Identify root causes of performance issues and recommend corrective actions
System Design & Application Support
- Assist in selecting and sizing humidification systems for HVAC applications
- Review project specifications, drawings, and submittals
- Support engineers, contractors, and manufacturer representatives with application guidance
Quoting & Technical Coordination
- Develop system quotations based on application requirements
- Support manufacturer representatives with technical input for project opportunities
- Help ensure proper system configuration for each application
Continuous Improvement
- Document recurring technical issues and solutions
- Help improve internal application guidelines and troubleshooting procedures
- Contribute to building a stronger technical knowledge base for the company
What Success Looks Like
In your first 6–12 months, success means:
- You are independently handling most routine technical support requests
- Response time to customers and reps is significantly improved
- Fewer technical escalations reach senior leadership
- Common application issues are documented and systematized
Over time:
- You become the primary technical resource for humidification applications
- You handle most troubleshooting without escalation
- You contribute to improving system design standards and application practices
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–5 years of experience in HVAC systems, mechanical systems, industrial equipment, or technical support
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, system behavior, and application requirements
- Comfortable communicating technical concepts via phone and email
- Curiosity about how systems work and how to improve performance
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Ability to generate 2D AutoCAD drawings (3D a plus)
- HVAC equipment or controls experience
- Applications engineering or technical support role in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with fluid systems, pumps, valves, or industrial process equipment
- Exposure to contractors, engineers, or manufacturer representative networks
What We Offer
- Salary range: $65,000 – $95,000 depending on experience
- Small, high-impact engineering environment
- Casual and fun work environment
- Direct exposure to full system lifecycle: design → application → field performance
- Opportunity to grow into deeper applications responsibility and leadership
- Broad technical exposure across real HVAC and industrial installations
Why This Role Is Different
This is not a call center support role and not a quota-driven sales position.
It is a technical applications role where your work directly impacts real HVAC system performance in the field. You will be solving engineering problems, not processing tickets or pushing sales targets.
