The Role
As a Residential HVAC Service Technician and Lead Installer, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential heating and cooling systems throughout our service area.
This is one combined position for an experienced HVAC professional who is equally comfortable running service calls and leading complete residential system installations.
You will work closely with our installation team, design consultants, office staff, and customers to provide a professional, five-star experience from the initial diagnosis through the completion of the repair or installation.
This role is for someone who can accurately diagnose HVAC problems, communicate solutions clearly to homeowners, lead high-quality installations, and take ownership of every job from start to finish.

This is not a role for someone who cuts corners, avoids responsibility, or only wants to perform one side of the trade. This position requires someone who can confidently handle both residential service and installation work.
Service Responsibilities
- Diagnose residential air-conditioning and heating system failures
- Perform HVAC repairs and preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot refrigerant, electrical, airflow, drainage, thermostat, and control issues
- Identify additional concerns that could affect comfort, efficiency, reliability, or safety
- Provide homeowners with clear repair and replacement recommendations
- Complete system performance testing and verify proper operation
- Maintain accurate service notes and customer documentation
- Communicate professionally before, during, and after each service call
Lead Installation Responsibilities
- Lead complete residential HVAC system replacements
- Install air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, furnaces, mini-splits, thermostats, filtration systems, UV lights, and related accessories
- Install and modify refrigerant lines, drain lines, electrical components, ductwork, transitions, and equipment connections
- Properly complete refrigerant recovery, nitrogen pressure testing, evacuation, charging, startup, and commissioning
- Verify airflow, temperature split, static pressure, refrigerant charge, electrical operation, and drainage
- Direct installation helpers and ensure all work meets Elevate’s standards
- Maintain clean, professional, and social-media-ready installations
- Complete customer walkthroughs and explain the operation of newly installed equipment
On-Call Requirements
This position requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule.
The technician must be available to respond to emergency service calls during assigned:
- Evenings
- Nights
- Weekends
- Select holidays
Applicants must understand that HVAC is a seasonal service business and schedule flexibility is required during periods of high demand.
Who We’re Looking For
- Residential HVAC Service and Installation experience required
- Experience leading complete residential HVAC installations
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- EPA Section 608 Certification required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems
- Ability to install air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, furnaces, mini-splits, ductwork, thermostats, refrigerant lines, and related equipment
- Comfortable working with traditional, communicating, and inverter-driven HVAC systems
- Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, garages, rooftops, and outdoor Florida conditions
- Able to lift heavy equipment and work safely in residential environments
- Comfortable using mobile applications for scheduling, invoicing, job documentation, and customer communication
