Position Overview
CareerNation is seeking experienced OR / Circulating Registered Nurses for multiple contract opportunities at ambulatory surgery centers in Austin, TX.
Rather than requiring every nurse to fit one rigid schedule or surgical specialty, we are looking to match qualified RNs with the assignment and case mix that best fits their experience.
Choose a 3- or 4-day workweek, with daytime schedules and no overnight shifts. Depending on experience and availability, nurses may be matched with cases in their preferred surgical specialties.

You do not need experience in every specialty listed. We encourage applicants to tell us which surgical areas they are strongest and most comfortable circulating so we can determine the best available assignment.
Scheduling Options
We have multiple Austin-area needs, allowing greater scheduling flexibility than a traditional single-facility contract.
Depending on the assignment selected, schedules may include:
3 days/week: 6:00 AM–4:00 PM
4 days/week: 6:15 AM–2:15/3:00 PM

Responsibilities
As an OR / Circulating RN, responsibilities may include:

Provide circulating nursing care during surgical procedures

Complete preoperative patient verification and surgical safety checks

Prepare the operating room and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available

Assist with safe patient positioning and surgical preparation

Maintain awareness of the sterile field and proper OR practices

Advocate for patient safety throughout the intraoperative period

Coordinate communication among surgeons, anesthesia providers and surgical staff

Complete accurate intraoperative documentation

Participate in procedural time-outs and surgical counts
-
Support efficient room turnover and case flow

Follow facility infection-control, patient-safety and clinical protocols
Qualifications
-
Active RN license applicable to practice in Texas
-
Previous Operating Room / Circulating RN experience

Experience in at least one of the listed surgical specialties strongly preferred

Comfortable working in an ambulatory surgery environment

Strong communication, organization and patient-safety skills
-
Ability to commit to the agreed contract schedule
