ProspectBlue is looking for a Senior Buyer to join a growing supply chain team in Newport News, VA !
This role is a key driver of supplier strategy, cost optimization, and material flow — working cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Operations.
What you'll own:

Managing a direct material supply base across cost, quality, delivery, and lead time

Negotiating supplier terms and driving Total Cost of Ownership improvements

Resolving quality and delivery issues and leading root cause/corrective action processes

Building and maintaining supplier scorecards and KPI dashboards

Supporting new product introductions and engineering changes for purchased materials

Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulatory documentation requirements

Partnering with Planning to align procurement demand with production and inventory needs
What we're looking for:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or 3+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain

Manufacturing or medical device supply chain experience preferred

Strong track record in cost analysis, supplier negotiations, and performance improvement

ERP/MRP system experience and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data modeling, PowerBI a plus)

A detail-oriented, data-driven mindset with strong cross-functional communication skills
