Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Soldering Technician to join our team. You will perform advanced-level electronic assembly, intricate hand soldering, and comprehensive quality inspections. This role requires a high degree of technical independence, including collaborating with Engineering to build first-article prototypes without established procedural documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Electronics Assembly & Soldering
- Solder micro-components: Mount tiny electronic components parts and Integrated Circuits (ICs) onto printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Utilize diverse techniques: Perform proficient hand soldering, through-hole soldering, surface mount technology (SMT), and extensive rework/reflow soldering.
- Build advanced assemblies: Complete complex assembly functions including component prepping, mechanical assembly, wire harnesses, cables, and spray applications using models or drawings.
- Develop first articles: Work directly with Engineering to interpret prints and specifications to build prototype units when no established assembly process is provided.
- Maintain cross-training: Train across all department assembly stages to successfully build and interpret every unit type in the department.
Equipment & Technical Documentation
- Operate specialized tools: Utilize and maintain soldering irons, hot air guns, hot plates, microscopes, and soldering stations.
- Interpret technical data: Read and follow complex assembly instructions, blueprints, schematics, and Process Flow Instructions.
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
- Execute full inspection: Perform all stages of inspection including in-process, final, and source inspections based on point-allocation standards.
- Support operational excellence: Participate actively in LEAN manufacturing events and "Six S" workplace organization activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Experience: High School Diploma with 8+ years of experience, OR an Associate Degree (AS) with 6+ years of experience.
- Expertise: Extensive, proven background in rework and reflow soldering is strictly required.
- Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle micro-electronics.
- Certifications: Active or previous Soldering Certifications are highly preferred.
- LEAN Knowledge: Previous experience participating in LEAN Events and "Six S" activities.

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
