A precision manufacturing company serving highly regulated industries is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with strong lathe and mill-turn programming experience. This position is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs used to manufacture complex, tight-tolerance components from a variety of high-performance materials.
The ideal candidate combines advanced CNC programming expertise with a strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, GD&T, and CAD/CAM software. This individual will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations to improve machining processes, resolve production challenges, and ensure components meet demanding customer and quality requirements.
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis CNC lathes and mill-turn machining centers.
- Create machining strategies using CAD/CAM software for complex, tight-tolerance components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, workholding methods, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
- Program and support machining of materials such as titanium, nickel-based alloys, stainless steel, aluminum, and other specialty metals.
- Perform program prove-outs and support first-piece and first article inspection activities.
- Troubleshoot CNC programs, tooling, setups, and machining processes to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.
- Optimize programs and manufacturing processes to reduce cycle times and improve productivity.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations to address technical and production challenges.
- Maintain CNC program documentation, setup sheets, tooling information, and revision histories.
- Support continuous improvement and root-cause analysis initiatives.
- Ensure machining processes comply with applicable quality, safety, and customer requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience programming and supporting CNC lathes and mill-turn equipment.
- Strong proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, ESPRIT, Siemens NX CAM, Fusion 360, or comparable platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of G-code, M-code, CNC machining practices, and cutting tool technology.
- Strong understanding of multi-axis machining and complex part geometries.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering, quality, and production teams.
- Experience programming CNC equipment within aerospace, defense, medical, energy, or another highly regulated precision manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, Siemens, Mori Seiki/DMG MORI, or similar machine controls.
- Knowledge of AS9100 or comparable quality management systems.
- Familiarity with First Article Inspection requirements and AS9102.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis.
- Experience machining complex components from titanium, Inconel or other nickel-based alloys, stainless steel, and specialty materials.
- Technical degree, apprenticeship, or certification in CNC Programming, Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or a related discipline.

This position operates within a precision manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with CNC machining equipment, tooling, inspection equipment, and production personnel. Appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be followed.
