This full-time position is located at Florence McClure Women’s Correctional Center in Las Vegas. The HVACR 2 will work under the direct supervision of the Facility Supervisor III and will work directly with inmates. Incumbent will be responsible for the preventative and routine maintenance of HVAC systems, exhaust fans, temperature controls and systems and operation of a building automation system that controls the HVAC systems. Troubleshooting, maintenance, repair of Refrigeration/Heat Transfer Systems, Air Handlers, Kitchen Equipment and Auxiliary components are required. Duties will be to monitor vacuum indication instruments, oil levels and temperatures, set time clocks, lubricate rotating equipment, perform water quality and air balance tests, troubleshoot control and equipment malfunctions, repair inoperable equipment, installation, fabrication and retrofitting equipment and components to update systems or replace obsolete or worn parts, track and prepare reports on system operation conditions, system maintenance, repairs and associated costs, and other duties as assigned.
Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVACR) Specialists perform skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Completion of a recognized HVACR apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level experience in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment; OR one year of experience as a HVACR Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
