Prairie Opportunity, Inc. (POI), a Community Action Agency, is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall administration, management, supervision, and leadership of the agency and serves as the chief executive officer under the direction of the Board of Directors.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, financial management, strategic planning, and community engagement skills and will be committed to advancing the mission of Prairie Opportunity, Inc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors in business Administration, Social Services, and/or related field; master’s degree or equivalent experience and relevant certifications/licenses, a plus. Must have strong people skills with proven success in community relationships; a proven track record of effectively leading strong advocacy at all levels and public relations work; excellent organizational management skills to develop high performance teams in a culturally inclusive environment to achieve quality projects with outcomes-based data. Expertise required for oversight and management of finance
department functions, strategic planning, fundraising, and coordination with local, state and federal agencies/officers.Must be a strong communicator, action-oriented, team builder, with an innovative approach to business planning. Under the general direction of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will assist the Board in planning, coordinating, controlling and evaluating all aspects of the Agency’s
operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for all agency operations and programs.
- Ensure the development and maintenance of agency policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain an effective organizational structure and staffing plan.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and funding requirements.
- Oversee financial operations, budgeting, and fiscal management.
- Develop and administer agency programs in accordance with Board policies and funding source requirements.
- Supervise and support key management staff, including:
- Finance Director
- Human Resources Manager
- Case Management Supervisor
- Weatherization Coordinator
- Coordinate activities of DCS-funded programs.
- Monitor contracts and ensure compliance with agency and funding source guidelines.
- Ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation.
- Monitor program performance and achievement of goals and objectives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of agency services.
- Represent the agency with community organizations, government agencies, funding sources, and stakeholders.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training opportunities as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $79,000.00 per year
