Summary
Provide comprehensive school-based physical therapy services to students enrolled at Gateway School as determined by the Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team. Responsibilities include evaluating students, developing and implementing individualized intervention plans, providing direct and consultative physical therapy services, collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members, and promoting students' access, participation, mobility, and independence within the educational environment.
Ensure all physical therapy services are delivered in accordance with each student's IEP and in compliance with applicable federal, state, and COMAR regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide direct physical therapy services to students in accordance with IEPs and document services using electronic documentation systems.
· Develop, implement, monitor, and update IEP goals and objectives related to physical therapy.
● Participate in IEP meetings, including annual reviews, eligibility meetings, reevaluations, and parent-requested meetings.
● Complete quarterly progress reports and maintain accurate, timely documentation.
● Conduct physical therapy evaluations and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to determine student eligibility and service needs.
● Observe students, collect data, and make recommendations regarding referrals and physical therapy services.
● Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to support student participation and access within the school environment.
● Conduct classroom observations and provide consultation and strategies to school staff and families to support student mobility, positioning, access, and participation.
● Participate in school meetings, related services meetings, professional development, and other required trainings.
● Provide coaching, consultation, and professional development to staff as appropriate.
● Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and openness to feedback for continuous growth.
● Maintain compliance with school, state, and federal regulations, including timely completion of electronic records.
● Perform other duties as assigned.

1. Documentation & Compliance
· Develop, contribute to, and maintain high-quality IEPs, evaluation reports, and other required documentation.
· Conduct physical therapy evaluations and reevaluations and accurately document findings.
· Complete daily service logs, billing documentation, and electronic records accurately and within required timelines.
· Submit quarterly progress reports that reflect student progress toward IEP goals.
· Meet all documentation deadlines, including paperwork required for IEP meetings and compliance calendars.
2. Service Delivery
· Provide high-quality direct and consultative physical therapy services as outlined in each student's IEP.
· Collaborate with classroom staff to implement strategies that support student participation, mobility, and educational success.
· Complete make-up sessions in accordance with organizational expectations.
· Provide consultation, coaching, and discipline-specific training to staff as appropriate.
3. Collaboration & Communication
· Collaborate effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team to support student outcomes.
· Maintain professional, timely communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and interventions, documenting communication as required, as outlined by the organization’s parent communication procedures.
· Share physical therapy expertise with teachers, related service providers, and school leaders to promote student success.
· Maintain open, proactive communication with supervisors regarding student needs, workload, scheduling, and leave requests.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb stairs, and move throughout the school environment. As needed, the employee must assist students with transfers, positioning, mobility, gait training, and therapeutic activities, which may require lifting, supporting, pushing, pulling, or moving students and equipment. This position may require lifting or assisting with loads exceeding 100 pounds with appropriate assistance and the use of safe lifting techniques or adaptive equipment when available.
Education & Experience
· Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
· A minimum of one (2) years of full-time pediatric physical therapy experience is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations
· Current licensure as a Physical Therapist issued by the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, or eligibility for Maryland licensure.
· Current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire, if required by the organization.
· Certified in, or eligible for certification in, the organization's approved crisis prevention/intervention program.

Pay: $38.00 - $45.00 per hour
