ECR Engineering is an engineering services provider based in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, with offices in the State of Florida. The markets served include the southeastern United States, the Caribbean islands, and South and Central America.
About the Position
We are seeking a Cost Estimator interested in joining a collaborative and multidisciplinary team within the engineering and construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, responsibility, active listening skills, and a willingness to support engineers, designers, project managers, and other professionals in an environment with opportunities for growth and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Prepare take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects.
- Perform cost analyses based on experience in the construction industry.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency using Excel and other applicable tools.
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify quantities, scopes, and relevant requirements.
- Coordinate and collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and other team members to validate information and support the preparation of estimates.
- Support the organization of cost information, budgets, and project-related documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the construction process, including construction sequences and methods, and the ability to interpret drawings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and more than three (3) years of experience; or seven (7) to eight (8) or more years of experience in a related position; or one (1) to two (2) years of experience in a related position and a master’s degree in Engineering Construction with an emphasis in Construction Management.
- Knowledge of English construction and engineering vocabulary.
- Ability to perform cost analyses using Excel.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Knowledge and/or experience executing construction projects related to potable water and wastewater treatment plants is a plus.
