Driver Manager / Dispatcher – Waste & Recycling Operations

This position is ideal for someone who can balance dispatching, problem-solving, and team leadership while stepping in to run a route when operational needs require it.

Responsibilities
- Dispatch and coordinate daily residential, commercial, and roll-off routes
- Manage driver schedules, attendance, and route coverage
- Handle driver-related issues, coaching, and communication throughout the day
- Monitor route efficiency and assist with operational adjustments as needed
- Communicate with customers and customer service regarding service issues or delays
- Ensure drivers are following safety and compliance standards
- Work closely with maintenance regarding truck issues and repairs
- Use routing and dispatch software to track routes and updates
- Step in and operate routes when necessary to maintain service levels
- Support overall daily operations and help maintain a productive work environment
Requirements
- Previous waste and recycling industry experience required
- CDL
- Dispatching, routing, or driver management experience strongly preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
- Basic computer and tablet/software proficiency
