Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and care for children of various ages, including toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, learning, and fun
- Ensure safety by adhering to childhood development best practices, behavior management strategies, and mandated reporting laws when necessary
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, needs, and daily experiences
- Administer first aid and CPR in emergency situations following established protocols
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, bathing, and nap times for infants and young children
- Support children with disabilities by adapting activities and providing inclusive care tailored to individual needs
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities and understanding their unique requirements
- Proven teaching experience with young children across preschool and elementary age groups
- Strong background in early childhood education, childcare, daycare experience, or babysitting roles
- Ability to plan age-appropriate activities that foster social skills, creativity, and learning
- Knowledge of childhood development milestones and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training is preferred
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and teamwork
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
