A great UHY client is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst. The ideal candidate will have healthcare finance experience, strong Excel and data analysis skills, and the ability to translate financial results into clear business insights for non-financial leaders.
The Sr. Financial Analyst role is a hybrid position with 2-3 days onsite. This is a direct hire position.
Sr. Financial Analyst Responsibilities
- Monitor financial systems to ensure data integrity and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and activities.
- Perform detailed financial and variance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Provide financial support to assigned business units and cross-functional projects.
- Review reporting trends and provide proactive analysis and recommendations to operational leadership.
- Partner closely with reimbursement, decision support, contracting, supply chain, and operations teams.
- Communicate financial information related to business plans, ROI, and ad hoc projects to senior executives, operational leaders, and physicians.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial and operational stakeholders.
- Investigate significant or unusual variances and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and regulatory compliance reports.
- Develop financial presentations and communicate findings to leadership and business partners.
- Support projects that cross multiple business lines and participate in committees and special projects as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls over financial reporting.
- Provide technical and analytical support for financial systems and reporting processes.
- Perform additional financial analysis and responsibilities as needed.
Sr. Financial Analyst Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with 3+ years of healthcare finance experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with financial analysis, variance analysis, and business partnering.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience analyzing and working with large data sets; data mining experience is a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills with the ability to create professional financial presentations.
- Previous healthcare finance experience preferred, particularly within cost accounting or financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, business planning, ROI analysis, and financial controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and explain financial results.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tell the financial story to non-financial and operational stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively with senior executives, physicians, operational leaders, and cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities, special projects, and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
