Position Summary
The Lead Field Technician / Lead Field Engineer serves as the onsite technical leader responsible for project execution, quality control, safety compliance, customer communication, and coordination of field personnel.
This is a hands-on leadership role. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in the field while leading crews, coordinating resources, supporting project management teams, and ensuring projects are completed safely, professionally, and on schedule.

Core Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Project Execution
- Lead installation teams on customer projects
- Coordinate daily field activities and project priorities
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements
- Maintain project schedules and communicate status updates
- Perform quality control inspections and punch-list management
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, Project Managers, customers, vendors, and subcontractors
- Support project commissioning, testing, and closeout activities
- Mentor and train junior technicians and installers
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
Technical Leadership
Experience across all technologies is not required. Candidates should possess strong expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Structured Cabling Systems (Copper & Fiber)
- Data Center Infrastructure
- AI Infrastructure and High-Performance Computing Environments
- Network Infrastructure
- Wireless Systems
- Audiovisual Systems
- Security, Surveillance, and Access Control Systems
- Power Distribution and UPS Systems
- Smart Building Technologies
- Technology Relocations, Migrations, and Deployments
Project Engineering Support
- Participate in site surveys and customer meetings
- Review project requirements and scopes of work
- Assist with solution development and technical recommendations
- Identify field challenges and propose solutions
- Support as-built documentation and project closeout packages
- Provide remote technical support and field coordination when required
Required Technical Skills
- Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling systems
- Copper cabling experience (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, Coaxial)
- Fiber optic installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting
- Installation and commissioning of network equipment
- Rack and stack servers, switches, storage, and supporting infrastructure
- Read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, rack elevations, schematics, and scopes of work
- Experience with cable management systems, pathways, and containment systems
- Ability to identify and resolve technical installation issues
- Familiarity with testing and certification equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and install equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms
- Ability to work in active construction and data center environments
- Ability to travel as required for project assignments
