Job Description:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team at Garner Therapy Services in Nashville. The ideal candidate will be self directed, an excellent communicator, and possess strong clinical skills in pediatric occupational therapy.
Schedule & Flexibility:
Patients are scheduled on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with dedicated time built into the schedule for lunch, documentation, planning, and collaboration. A third clinical day per week may be available for the right candidate based on mutual interest and practice needs.
Our therapists enjoy a high degree of autonomy in designing their schedules. We value flexibility and independence, allowing clinicians to create schedules that meet both their personal needs and the needs of the practice while ensuring excellent patient care.
The ideal candidate is seeking 15–20 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase hours as the caseload grows, if desired.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct screening and comprehensive assessments to evaluate sensory processing, fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, self-care skills, and activities of daily living.
- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, family goals, and clinical expertise to address the unique needs of each child.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Provide direct, evidence based occupational therapy services to children, including sensory integration therapy, fine motor skill development, and visual-motor integration to promote independence and participation in the child’s activities of daily living.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to schedule coordinated care and optimize therapeutic outcomes for each child.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, writing comprehensive reports of evaluation, progress, and discharge as well as consistent written communication with parents and teachers as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Tennessee.
- Preferred 2 years of experience working as a pediatric occupational therapist.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate with clients and their families.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy, with a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
- Candidates must pass a background check and maintain professional liability insurance.
