Join our dynamic Baseball program as an Assistant Baseball Coach and play a vital role in developing young athletes’ skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship! This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive athletic environment, support team growth, and inspire players to reach their full potential. As an Assistant Coach, you will collaborate closely with the head coach to implement training strategies, foster team spirit, and ensure a safe, engaging experience for all participants. This paid position is ideal for individuals passionate about sports coaching, working with children, and promoting healthy physical activity. Must be able to commit to Monday- Friday at 3pm - 6pm from January - May. This will be a stipend position for $1350.00
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing baseball practices, drills, and game strategies that enhance player development
- Support the head coach in managing team logistics, including scheduling and equipment preparation
- Provide mentorship and positive reinforcement to players to promote teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
- Help monitor player behavior on and off the field, ensuring a respectful and safe environment
- Lead by example in demonstrating sports-specific skills such as batting, fielding, base running, and game rules adherence
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff to keep everyone informed about team activities and expectations
- Support safety protocols by understanding first aid procedures and operating AED devices when necessary
Requirements
- Prior experience in sports coaching or playing baseball at a competitive level
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and youth athletes
- Knowledge of baseball rules, techniques, and training methods; experience with other sports like soccer or basketball is a plus
- Strong communication skills for engaging with players, parents, and team staff
- Certification or experience in first aid and CPR; AED operation training preferred but not mandatory
- Background in lifeguard experience or swimming is advantageous for safety awareness
- Experience teaching physical education or working within health clubs or gym environments is beneficial
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while managing team behavior and fostering a positive atmosphere
