Welcome to the start of your next new adventure. The Barn South Broadway is reviving American classics with modern interpretations. We are looking for a talented and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team and lead the culinary operations in our dynamic kitchen.
Who you are:
The Kitchen Manager works closely with ownership to maintain the highest quality and standards in the daily operations of kitchen. They ensure all pars are met in the prep kitchen and oversee execution of the menus throughout service. This position also has an active role in the management and development of Line Cooks, Prep Cooks and all hourly team members. The Kitchen Manager will be in charge of holding the BOH team accountable to consistent feedback and career development through their performance objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Kitchen Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and inspire a team of cooks, and kitchen staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting creativity and teamwork.
- Training and Development:
- Train kitchen staff on menu items, cooking techniques, and safety procedures.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support for professional growth.
- Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs.
- Implement strategies to minimize waste and maximize resource efficiency.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
- Monitor food preparation to guarantee the highest quality and consistency.
- Customer Experience:
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for customers.
- Address customer feedback and continuously strive to enhance the overall dining experience.
- Adherence to Policies and Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food handling and storage protocols.
What we need from you:
- 2+ years of experience in culinary leadership and fine dining
- Certification in Hospitality-related field, or equivalent (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating and communicating across teams
- Excellent food & beverage knowledge
- English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required
