Infection Control Preventionist (ICP)

Maple Ridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare is seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and compassionate Infection Control Preventionist (ICP) to lead our Infection Prevention and Control Program. This leadership position plays a critical role in protecting the health and safety of our residents, employees, visitors, and community through surveillance, education, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do
As the Infection Control Preventionist, you will oversee the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations.
✔️ Infection Prevention & Regulatory Compliance
Develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program.
Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, Department of Health, and local infection prevention regulations.
Review, revise, and implement infection prevention policies and procedures based on current evidence-based practices.
Monitor infection surveillance data, identify trends, and develop corrective action plans when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of resident and employee infections, exposures, outbreaks, and reportable diseases.
Coordinate outbreak investigations and implement appropriate interventions.
Ensure adherence to Standard Precautions and Transmission-Based Precautions throughout the facility.
✔️ Staff Education & Clinical Support
Develop and provide infection prevention education during new employee orientation.
Coordinate ongoing staff education and competency training related to infection prevention, hand hygiene, PPE, isolation precautions, antibiotic stewardship, and emerging infectious diseases.
Serve as a clinical resource for all departments regarding infection prevention best practices.
Assist department leaders in identifying educational opportunities and implementing corrective action plans.
Promote a culture of safety through continuous education, coaching, and performance improvement.
✔️ Quality Improvement & Leadership
Chair or actively participate in the Infection Prevention and Control Committee.
Represent Infection Prevention at Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings.
Conduct routine environmental rounds and infection prevention audits throughout the facility.
Analyze audit findings and provide recommendations to leadership for process improvement.
Prepare monthly infection surveillance reports, summaries, and recommendations for the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
Support the facility's Antibiotic Stewardship Program through data collection, monitoring, and education.
✔️ Collaboration & Resident Safety
Work closely with Nursing, Environmental Services, Therapy, Dietary, Human Resources, and other departments to promote infection prevention initiatives.
Maintain confidential employee health and exposure records.
Assist with employee health monitoring related to communicable diseases and exposure follow-up.
Promote resident rights while maintaining a safe, healthy, and sanitary environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator or Director of Nursing.
? What We're Looking For
✔️ Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Certified Infection Preventionist (CIP) certification or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe.
Previous experience in infection prevention or skilled nursing preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, teaching, and analytical skills.
Ability to interpret regulatory guidance and implement best practices.
Ability to meet health screening, background check, and drug screening requirements.
✔️ Preferred Experience
Previous Infection Prevention experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
Experience with NHSN reporting, surveillance tracking, and outbreak management.
Experience educating and training clinical and non-clinical staff.
Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) processes.

Full-Time
Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Additional hours as needed to respond to outbreaks, surveys, or facility needs
